The Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM is a compact L-series telephoto lens that features Canon’s Image Stabilizer technology which makes up for camera shake that’s equal to a shutter speed two stops faster.
The EF 300mm f/4L IS USM comes with two Image Stabilizer modes. The first mode is the same that’s featured on the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM and the new Stabilizer Mode 2 detects the panning direction automatically and steadies the image during horizontal or vertical panning. The closest focusing distance of this lens is 4.9 feet (1.5 m).
